This lure was designed by Clayton Smith (of hoodmaking legend) and his late father, Turner C. Smith, Jr.

Clayton designed this lure after watching falcons having trouble "balancing" on lures that were just too thickly padded. This lure is padded but it lays flat, has a hole in the middle so the meat always lands up and a tent tie closure to quickly secure the meat without the need of fumbling with a tie string in the field. As a low-profile lure it also fits neatly in falconry bags and vests. The lure comes complete with lure, ball-bearing swivel, accessory cord and lure stick.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this lure are donated to cancer research in honor of Turner C. Smith, Jr. Turner was a skilled craftsman in metal, wood, and fabric--and was especially fond on working with leather. It is no wonder that his son, Clayton Smith, was such a great hood maker--he inherited it from his beloved father! Hood-savers or lures made by either of these talented men will be highly functional and treasured items.
