This tough cowhide long-cuff gauntlet is made for those hawks that are very hard on gloves. This particular model is the hardest wearing glove we have for hawks. It is double thickness in the perch areas and measures approximately 14" from the tip of finger to end of cuff.
Cowhide is denser than elk, which makes it a better choice for grippy hawks or those hawks that would damage the elk skin gloves. It comes with a "D" ring attached so that you may affix your favorite strap and clip system. It also has one of those tassels which are so common to falconry gauntlets attached to the bottom — designed for hanging up your glove on a hook when not in use.
Care of your falconry glove: We recommend that you do not use oil on falconry gloves as it can harbor disease causing pathogens which can also attack thread and fibers in the leather.
Instead, if you feel you do need to treat them with something, then they should be treated with falconry jesse grease (NurtureSeal - Item: FE5187) or (DB Scientific Jesse Grease - Item: FE5200) See related items below. Actually, for the health of your hawk, we recommend that you begin each hawking season with a new glove! Always discard your glove if you hawk has been sick and is being treated to avoid reinfection.
