Western Sporting’s single-skin medium duty cowhide gauntlet. This gauntlet will serve the falconer well for raptors from 12 ounces to 34 ounces. It has been sewn with the rough side of the leather out making for a comfortable perch for your bird and a nicer fit inside for you! It is made of a good thick cowhide in a single layer making it lightweight yet tough. There are a minimum of seams in the perching areas and it is not overly long in the cuff. This glove really does fill the gaps in available hand protection when tougher double skinned gloves are overkill.
This Single-Skinned Gauntlet has the suede side out and should be used just as it is. No need to treat it with oil or grease--just put it on and use it!
Care of your falconry glove: We recommend that you do not use oil on falconry gloves as it can harbor disease causing pathogens which can also attack thread and fibers in the leather.
