The Predator Hood! Our master hoodmaker has come up with yet another innovative, great fitting, and cost effective hood for hawks and falcons.
This new hood combines the qualities of both the Anglo-Indian and Dutch style hoods. This hood is blocked, of a one-piece Anglo-Indian-type construction, and it is lightweight and comfortable for the birds. We have tried it on about a dozen raptors at the NAFA and CHC meets and all have accepted it readily. A couple of hawks were even hooded with this hood and left on the perch in the weathering area for about 4 hours. Neither one gave these hoods even a single scratch. It also has a "tongue" on the inside back which prevents the braces from accidentally getting those feathers on the nape of the neck pulled into the brace slits when opened and closed — another great feature. These hoods are also equipped with gortex braces for a long trouble-free life. Altogether a great hood and very good bargain.
