      Description

Note: This digital scale is intended for small raptors. We suggest this scale when the falconer wants to weigh a smaller hawk in 1 gram increments as a larger hawk may damage the delicate mechanism. Larger hawks, which can be wieghed in 2 gram increments should be weighed on product FE2313A. See related products below for the larger scale which, most falconers use.

Cost Effective, Lightweight, Accurate & Portable.

Here is a cost effective and accurate digital scale for the falconer. Scale base is 7 1/2" x 6 1/4" and is 8" high to the top of the perch. This custom wooden perch, covered with outdoor carpet, measures 2 1/2" x 7 1/2" which is sufficient for raptors up to the mid-20 ounce range (tiercel peregrine.) This scale weighs up to 15 lbs (7000 grams) in 1 gram (1/10th of an ounce) increments. It is powered by three AA batteries. A good scale to have on a hawking trip when you are away from home and need an accurate & lightweight travel model.

This scale has a very nice feature: Sometimes raptors fidget on the scale top and the digital display jumps around (In fact, a raptor breathing heavily can sometimes cause a scale's display to move up and down a bit depending on the size of the bird and how hard it is breathing.) Well, this scale has a hold button which can be pushed as the bird settles slightly and the weight is locked into the display. Great for a road trip when you end up weighing your bird on the back the truck tailgate. It is also a great way to deal with the ever increasing sensitivity built into these scales--electronics keep getting less expensive and more accurate.

Temperature Operating Range: This scale works here in our warehouse at 45 degrees F without a problem but the manufacturer suggests the scale should be used and stored in a temperature range of 65 to 85 degrees F.
