This long-cuff eagle gauntlet is made for us to our specifications. It is constructed with stout, yet pliable cow hide of a good thickness. This weight of leather is very durable and layered in all the areas where the eagle perches to protect your arm and hand. It measures approximately 18" from tip of finger to end of cuff. It comes with a "D" ring attached so that you may affix your favorite strap and clip system. It has one of those tassels, which are so common to falconry gloves, attached to the bottom of the cuff (designed for hanging your glove on a hook between uses).
Care of your falconry glove: We recommend that you do not use oil on falconry gloves as it can harbor disease causing pathogens which can also attack thread and fibers in the leather and rub off onto your hawk's food..
Instead, if you feel you do need to treat them with something, then they should be treated with falconry jesse (jess) grease. See related items below. Actually, for the health of your hawk, we recommend that you begin each hawking season with a new glove! Always discard your glove if you hawk has been sick and is being treated to avoid reinfection.
